Staff Bio

My name is Mihai. I was born in 1956 in Romania where I was the 3x Romanian National Champion. I have a degree in physical education. With coaching being my passion, I have been doing it for over 3 decades, with the last 25 years being in the US. I have coached several Romanian National and Olympic team members, dozens of state and regional champions, as well as level 10 national participants, and gymnasts who have received collegiate gymnastics scholarships. The latest Regional All-Around champion I have coached was Pressley Barnwell in 2021 as a level 8 for Team Olympia.

My name is Rose. I am 25 years old and have been all in, in the competitive gymnastics and cheer world for over 20 years, as an athlete for 12 years and a coach for 9 years. My passion and love for gymnastics has fueled my drive to coach and guide athletes in finding their own passion in this sport. Throughout my years of coaching I have trained several state and regional champions ranging from bronzes to level 9. I have been the head coach of the competitive team for several years as well as the gym manager/director for a year and a half. Fun fact about me; my favorite event to coach is bars and my favorite holiday is Christmas.

My name is Jasmine. I am 23 years old and have been lucky enough to be involved in the gymnastics world for the last 12 years. I joined Olympia Gymnastics at the age of 10 and was on the competitive team from 2010-2016. As a competitor I competed up to level 9 and while training for level 10 I decided to continue my athletic career as a top and tumbler at Limestone University. In 2018 I received a scholarship for Acrobatics and Tumbling which made me one of the first athletes to sign to the Limestone Acro team. Taking part in my team’s accomplishments and recent conference championship and national rank of 6 th place in 2022.

My name is Erica. I am 28 years old and I began my competitive gymnastics journey, here, at Olympia, 21 years ago. I ended my competitive gymnastics career at NC State in 2016. I am one of the Xcel Bronze team coaches here at Olympia. About 5 years ago, I began coaching and have now been blessed to share the experience with my son. When students find the beauty and art in gymnastics, it boosts their confidence and health. It is a joy to be a part of their personal growth.

My name is Heather Gordon. I began light tumbling 20+ years ago with cheerleading. I have coached cheer and tumbling on and off the last 5 years. I took more to gymnastics in the last 2 years when my daughter began the sport. I love working with beginner rec groups and toddler classes. It’s fun to see when they achieve a skill for the first time and watch them grow from there.

Hi! My name is Kady and I am a wife and mother to 3 children, a son and 2 daughters. I began my sports adventures as a dancer at the age of 2. I did all forms of dance until the age of 8 when I fell in love with gymnastics. I began right here at Olympia Gymnastics and competed on the team until I was a freshman in high school. I then moved on to cheerleading and finished out my high school career with cheer as my main focus. Even though I was a competitive gymnast for only 6 years, it has always been my passion. My 2 young girls have fallen in love with the sport also and are now competing on Team Olympia! I love being able to coach in my hometown gym alongside my daughters. Olympia will always be a huge part of my childhood and I’m hoping to bring a light and love for this sport to each kid that comes through my classes.
